Here's how best to use dried roses to brighten up your home.

Updated: Sep 12, 2020

Rosewater:

Make your rosewater toner.

Rosewater is not only beautifully fragrant. It has an extensive range of uses including facial toner, hair perfume, cooling mist, and linen freshener. Rose petals are edible, and rosewater has a place in the culinary world as well.

The easiest and quickest way to make rosewater is by simmering rose petals (dried or fresh) in water. The result is fragrant, rose-coloured water. This method is suited best for recipes and uses that will not sit around very long as it has a limited shelf life.

Potpourri:

The next time your beautiful bouquet of roses starts to wilt, instead of tossing the pretty petals in the trash, make potpourri.

Rose wreath:

Make Your Home Truly Yours!

Facial Steam:

Steaming your face once in a while is very important to keep your skin clean and healthy.

Bowl of steaming water method: Bring a pot of water to a boil and transfer the water to a steel or glass bowl. Now add two tablespoons of dried Rose petals into the hot water. Smell the beautiful and pleasing aroma of roses that comes through this steam.

Drape a towel over your head covering the bowl too for trapping the steam. Place your face close enough to the steam, so you feel it on your face, but not so close that your skin feels like it is burning or overheating.

Rose sachets for drawers:

Scented sachets are lovely for keeping your home smelling beautifully fresh. You can place them in your drawers, in your cupboards or even under your pillow.

Rose garland:

Whether you choose fresh, dried, fake, fabric, or paper roses, garlands can add the perfect touch to a birthday party, baby shower or your home.

Hang dried flowers upside down from darkest to lightest, to create an ombré feature wall.

Roses in a frame:

Who doesn't love hearts and roses? This is a unique gift that can celebrate so many occasions: Anniversary, Mothers Day, Engagement, Wedding, Birthday, and so much more.

Make a colourful, and eco-friendly, confetti from dried roses:

Add a floral paper cone, and you're ready for your friend wedding.
